Loyalsock Animal Hospital is pleased to offer veterinary technician externship opportunities. We work closely with accredited Veterinary Technician programs to host students as they complete their clinical training.
We offer hands on training in all aspects of small animal medicine, including:
- Basic nursing duties (medicinal administration, record keeping, patient care, etc)
Reception duties (scheduling appointments, client interaction, etc)
Diagnostic collection and completion
Anesthetic monitoring
Surgical assisting (including infection control and aseptic technique)
Emergency medicine and CPR administration
Exotic animal medicine (reptiles and pocket pets)
Our facility contains a complete in-house laboratory, dual surgical suite, radiology and ultrasonic diagnostics and newly renovated dental suite. We offer a stipend and have housing available for one student at a time. Students are responsible for obtaining their own insurance during the externship period.
